Case 87: Intra-Lesional Steroid Injection in Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis
This 26-years old, known to have Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) in the left ischial tuberosity earlier, came with pain in the right hip.
The MRI and PET/CT showed an active lesion in the right ilium. Biopsy confirmed LCH. A subsequent steroid injection was done and the patient responded in 3 months. A recent paper on this subject in Skeletal Radiology is also discussed.
